Seat booking and tickets, explained
The most common question we get is about seats and tickets, so here it is in full.
A seat is a reservation
Booking a seat holds a place for you and shows the organizer how full the room is. It is free, and it does not get you into the event.
A ticket is entry
Buying a ticket is what gets you through the door. Your ticket carries a QR code, and the QR code is what gets scanned on entry. Only ticket holders get in.
What happens when tickets sell out
If the paid tickets sell out, the unpaid booked seats are released. This keeps the room from being held by seats that nobody paid for, and it gives the people who paid the chance to get in.
Which ticket type should I buy?
Events can offer more than one ticket tier. The first tier is always Standard, and the organizer can add others with their own names, such as VIP. If you are unsure which one is right for you, open the event page, where each tier is listed with its price.
