Registration forms
Registration collects what you need from attendees before they book or buy, using question types you choose.
Registration is a form you attach to an event. It is the module to use when you need information from attendees that Evittone does not already ask for, such as a course, a department, a dietary need, or a student ID number.
Step 1: Turn on registration
- Open the event and go to the registration module.
- Enable registration.
- Set the registration limit, which caps how many people can register for the event.
Step 2: Add your questions
The form builder gives you five question types:
- Short text — one line. A name, a student ID, a phone number.
- Long text — a paragraph. Anything that needs a sentence.
- Radio — pick one option. Male, female, another option.
- Checkbox — pick any number of options. Interests, session choices.
- Dropdown — a longer list, collapsed to one line.
Step 3: Delete what you do not need
Any question can be deleted. Build the form up, read it back the way an attendee will, and remove anything you added by mistake.
What attendees see
- The registration form on the event page, with your questions in the order you built them.
- Each question rendered as the type you chose: a single line for short text, a box for long text, one choice for radio, several for checkbox, and a list for dropdown.
- Whether registration is open or full, based on the registration limit you set.
Tips
- Keep it short. A long form is a long queue at the door, and the information you will actually use is usually in the first four questions.
- Use short text for anything you will need to search later, like a student ID.
- Set the registration limit before you publish, so the event does not open with more registrations than the room can hold.
- Delete a question you no longer need instead of rewriting it. Attendees who already registered keep their answers either way.
